11 Apr Metadata Change to Planted Corns
Recently Scarecrow from Krun Labs implemented a new feature to corns that are listed for sale while still being planted. Prior to this new feature being added, holders wishing to sell would do so without “cropping” (un-staking) their corns from the planting mechanism. If a corn is not cropped prior to selling, it cannot be sold as it is still attached to the contract.
This common knowledge when selling has become a nuisance within the community and the team. The quickest way to flag these was to implement and API to have the ability to update Token metadata when a corn is listed while planted.Previously planted corns were #expelled by the team when someone made them aware and wanted to buy the corn. However exiting holders took advantage of this and left it for the team to do and incur the gas expense.
After it became clear that folks were trying to play the system, Scarecrow refused to expel. Something needed to be done, so the team acted quickly and implemented the new metadata feature. This new feature displays a Goblin in a popcorn bucket and remains that way until the corn is cropped.
Our hope is that this will influence sellers to do the right thing by cropping their corn prior to putting it up for sale. Its sure would make its a better experience for everyone.
We love Goblins, just not Trolls.
