Since it’s conception the project has always been about the trifecta of community, art and utility. The Locals are an OG Krun Labs collection that were actually conceptualized before Corntown even popped. Corntown pioneered the collection by getting your utility started through soft staking, and earning Krun. These mysterious pfp’s have created a lot of intrigue and evolved the community by adding an unexpected element to the Corntown ecosystem.
The Krun Labs Trait Factory empowers you to modify your Local as you see fit, making them fully your own. The Trait Factory is an innovative technology that Krun Labs has introduced, and it is powered by a DAO. Through this DAO, the community can propose and vote on various traits related to the Locals. Traits such as hair, eyes, mouth, and skin have already been proposed, and community-selected traits used in the trait factory will pay a commission in $KRUN to the community member who submitted them. The trait factory is not just limited to changing certain traits through an advanced API on-chain. It also introduces one of the most advanced uses of ‘API image update’, resulting in a highly advanced, dynamic NFT. By upgrading your traits, you could potentially make your Local more rare and therefore more desired by collectors and other community members.
This fully minted collection of 15,000 ERC-721 tokens are equal in art and rarity, but different in origin. Of the 15,000 Locals that are out there, only 11,500 have been discovered. Of these, 5,000 have been minted during mint events and the remaining amount are what have been minted using their corns. Of each of the 10,000 corns, only 1 local can be minted using corny juice. That means there are approximately 3,500 missing Locals hidden inside corns. Which means there are 3,500 corny juices as well! Either together or apart, will you help us find them?
